What is it……

2010-03-10b.jpg

Okay, let’s just say we “inherited” this thing…..this large pink…yes, pig!  But what is it…you ask???  Well, it is a composter, of course!  We’ve always wanted a composter….but we’ve never actually gotten one.  So, now we have one…and now we have no excuses…we MUST start composting.

The food goes in this BIG guys snout and in 12 weeks…after lots of rolling..it comes…..um….out…the other end…….I’ll have to keep you posted on all the composting fun!

Read all about composting “fun”…right here at Rolypig Composting!

New embroidery machine…….

2010-03-08.JPG

It’s here…my new embroidery machine.  Instead of getting another Janome….I got a Baby Lock. I did a lot of research and after a lot of thinking..this is the machine I chose……The Baby lock Ellure BLR…hopefully it will be with me for about the next ten years!  I’m hoping it will last a lot longer than my Janome….there was  a lot of things I liked about my Janome, but a lot of things I didn’t like…I will have to save all that for another post..comparing the two and talking about what I like and don’t like..but for now…..I need to go figure out how to use this thing!!!

Mini veggie pot pie……

2010-03-05a.JPG

Keeping with the theory that if you get your child involved with the cooking, they will be more inclined to like the food….I had River make her own mini veggie pot pie.  We made the dough and she rolled it out herself with her own rolling pin.

She picked out exactly which veggies she wanted..only potatoes and carrots..no asparagus, peppers, broccoli, or celery…

Then she added the white sauce, which she loved and wanted to taste again and again…..

Then she got to roll out more dough and put the top on her little pie….

She was so proud of it when she was done….she couldn’t wait to cook it…..

And then eat it…. and it was finally done and ready to eat…..

And she wouldn’t even look at it..she refused to eat it….okay, she took one little bite and said…yuck!  And asked for a banana instead!

Quiet……

2010-03-04.JPG

The quiet is from the lack of an embroidery machine.  My embroidery machine is officially dead….unrepairable….broken beyond repair…worn out…….there is no pretty way of saying it……

So, in the meantime..I’m catching up on my paper work…….

Little Big Planet Sack Boy…..

2010-03-02a.JPG

My children love to read….they love to draw…they love to play outside….they love to ride their bikes…..they love to be creative…..and they love video games…I hate to admit it..but they do…..and right now they are obsessed with Little Big Planet….I don’t know much about the game..but what I do know is…it is based around a little popit or sack boy…and he is the cutest thing ever!  I had fun just getting him dressed and making him move and smile and laugh….and cry.  He is so adorable…so I just had to make him into a little applique…..

Now I have to turn this cute little sack boy into a woolie!
