Embrace the Camera…

Tuesday and I have been doing a lot of late night walking.  When I say late…I mean about 8:30 or 9:00…after I’ve put the babies to bed.  When I say to bed…I mean that they are in their cribs and staying asleep for hopefully a few hours!  Grey has gotten really good at sleeping at night, but Escher can’t seem to get the concept..unless he is in bed with me!  Last night, though…Grey didn’t seem to be feeling well and she just wouldn’t settle down. So, we took her on our walk. It was fun getting her all bundled up and in the baby carrier.  I don’t know why I thought she might fall asleep during the walk.  She stayed alert and wide awake the whole time!  Half way through our walk, we switched and Tuesday started carrying her in the carrier…She just looked so cute all snuggled up….

Camera apps……

Tuesday has introduced me to the world of camera apps on my phone.  I have been having so much fun playing around with them.  The photo above I stole from Tuesday.  I love it.  She showed me a site called mytubo.net.   You can upload your photos, add filters and share them with others.  I also found a site called picyou.com.  Some of the photos I take with my phone and others I take with my camera.  It really is incredible how many neat things there are on the internet to enhance our photography.

Embrace the Camera….Christmas Tree Shots

Every year we do our Christmas tree shots…as always…I forget about it til the last minute.  By the time we took them this year..the tree was so dry and droopy.  Right after the photos..I ripped the tree down and dragged it outside…..all the decorations are finally put away!!

December Recap…..

Okay..I can’t believe it is already 2012 and I haven’t posted anything yet.  I feel like time is getting away from me!!  I need an extra week to catch up with everything.  December was a whirlwind and thankfully no one gotten eaten by the Yule Cat…for which I am always thankful!!  Every photo I took in December was blurry..I think our camera or the battery or my photography skills are slowly dying….

Tuesday’s birthday came and went.  She turned 14….oh my..I can’t believe I have a 14 year old child!!  It really seems incredible.  She is such a great person and I love her so much.  She is more than I could ever ask for….she helps me out so much with the babies and around the house….I don’t know if it is due to my great parenting skills or what..but she is turning out to be a fantastic human being!!

Christmas was here and then not here and now I am still cleaning up from it all…Christopher got me a super fancy serger for Christmas.  I have never used a serger so I am going a bit crazy trying to learn all about it.  I am determined to learn everything I can about all its wonderful capabilities and then use those skills to make many many wonderful things…or at least a bib or two.  So, hopefully next week I’ll get back into the blog swing of things and be posting on a daily basis!!  Until then….happy new years……

Embrace the Camera…Waiting for Santa…part II

So, the other day, while we were waiting for Santa to arrive…on the fire truck….we had to fill the time somehow.  And we were waiting a long time for Santa.  So, we were taking photos of each other.  It was a lot of fun. We were trying to look sad, mad…and maybe a bit scary!…..

Go embrace the camera…..

Waiting for Santa on the firetruck…..

In our town, every year, Santa comes on a firetruck and hands out candy canes.  They have been doing it since I was a little girl.  But when I was little, Santa handed out an entire box of candy!!  Not anymore.  This year, they said Santa would come on Thursday or Saturday.  So, that meant that we had to hang out and wait for him to arrive….possibly for two days.  On Thursday, after school, we started to hear the fire truck..so we ran outside and waited and waited and waited…no Santa. And it was freezing.  Tuesday was wearing my shoes and was not properly dressed.  The babies weren’t properly dressed….and did I mention it was cold!!  We went inside and waited by the window….with the babies wrapped in blankets.  We waited and waited…for what seemed like hours…finally we heard the sirens getting closer and closer…and he was on our street.  Then, right before our house, he turned the corner and was gone!!  The sirens got farther away until there were no more sirens.  So much for Santa coming on Thursday!!  So, on Saturday we waited again..all day…until it was about dark..and then he finally came!!  By then, it was so cold I didn’t even bring the babies out!!  River was so excited when he finally came!!

Embrace the Camera…Jingle Ball

Last week, I took Tuesday and Quinn to the Jingle Ball…a huge concert with about 12 bands.  It was the second year in a row that we went..but this year it was at a much larger stadium.  It was a lot of fun and incredibly loud….after going I don’t want to go to another concert for about a year…which is just about right!!  Just the experience of going with Tuesday and Quinn was great.  Taking the train and subway and spending the time together. I know the days are numbered when they won’t want to be seen at a concert with their mom…so I treasure these times!! It was a long concert and didn’t finish til about 1 in the morning.  Since there are so many artists, each one only plays a few songs.  I think next year,  it may be more fun to pick one artist and go to a whole concert.  I think the best part was the train ride home…..it was raining and hailing and we got soaking wet…and the train was filled with people from the concert.  Tuesday and Quinn did some planking..which was hilarious!

Embrace the Camera….Thanksgiving…..

Over Thanksgiving, we went on a little trip to Atlantic City.  It was the perfect little getaway.  It was only an hour by train..so there was no traffic to worry about.  Who doesn’t love a train ride. We got a great hotel room…..the pool was under construction..which was a bummer.  But we had so much fun.  It was nice and relaxing!  Just perfect for the holiday! We ate, slept..(okay, I didn’t sleep much), shop, saw the ocean and walked all around.  Oh, and I was crowned Miss America while I was down there!  Go Embrace the Camera…..
