Christmas Stockings…finally finished…

Well….it only took about a year, but I finally finished everyone’s Christmas stockings….with the help of my mom.  Tuesday, Quinn and River all had stockings that my mom made.  Then, two years ago, Tuesday lost hers.  I don’t know how it happened…but I guess, somehow it got thrown away with all the Christmas wrapping paper.  I was convinced that it was lost somewhere in Tuesday’s room.  But, when we switched her room with River’s we took everything out and there was no stocking.  I was so sad that she wouldn’t have a stocking that my mom had made for her.  Then, Escher and Gray came along and they needed stockings.  I rummaged through my parents Christmas decorations and I found two stockings my mom had made for decorations…so they became Escher and Greys.  Then, I found something else she had cross stitched.  I was nervous to try to make it into a stocking….because if I messed up….there was nothing else to use.  But, after some thought and a lot of waiting, I finally did it.  It turned out pretty well.  What didn’t turn out well was my cross stitching with the names.  Oh well…I’m just not a cross stitcher!!

Happy Friday….and brrrrrr…..

Happy Friday everyone.  I hope everyone is warm!  I know that is what we are trying to do around here!  It has been so cold all week that we haven’t been outside much at all. Normally I walk River to school and the babies really enjoy the time in the stroller and I like getting the exercise…but not this week.  Too cold!  I am happy it is Friday…happy for the weekend and maybe some family time!!  And for warmer weather.  If it isn’t going to snow I don’t see the point of all the cold weather.

Tea Parties and other stuff…

Everybody is feeling a bit coldish today.  Because of the weather and because of their noses.  So, today was filled withnose wipes, boogies, crying, tears and smelly diapers.  I don’t know why sick babies seem to have very smelly diapers!  River was very happy that we were able to squeeze in a tea party. I had promised her one the day before…but things didn’t work out…so today was the day.  Kitty had a lot to say and was very happy she was invited!  Happy Thursday!

Yule Lads….

The Icelandic Yule Lads have begun to appear at our house…..Everyone has been putting their shoe in the window at night, except Escher and Grey.  Our rule is..if you can’t put your shoe in your window, then you don’t get to put a shoe in the window.  They will probably be ready next year!  I hope you’ve been good, otherwise you get a rotten potato left in your shoe.  I said they should borrow some dirty diapers and put them in the bad children’s shoes!

River turned six….

Yesterday River turned six.  I can’t believe it. We had a fantastic weekend with lots of parties and fun.  Yesterday we got to have our “small” family party.  We put up the tree and put on the lights.  After dinner, we started to decorate it.

It seems like just yesterday we were bringing our new little bundle of joy home from the hospital!

Outfits…..

River loves to pick out her outfit each day.  And I like the fact that she is so independent…especially in the morning.  She can get herself dressed, get her pajamas in the hamper (most days), brush her hair.  It is pretty awesome how great she is at getting herself ready, so that I can get the babies ready!  I love her outfits so much, that I decided to start taking a daily photo of her…here are some of my favorites….
